School Spirit
Showing school spirit is very fun thing to do and should be done often. Especially at sporting events to pump up your team by showing that you really care. But sometimes people go a little overboard and thats not cool.
A lot of people get really into having school spirit in a good way. For example a couple of instructors at our high school, during a pep rally, put on cheer leaders skirts and went out on the floor dancing around and it really pumped up the students. (Way to go Rich!) Another example is me and Nate at the game, we painted our faces, legs, arms, and necks maroon and gold. We also painted our hair bright red, it was way awesome! We cheered loud and were just completly crazy. But the people we were around took it a little too far and thats what i didnt like.
As some students from our rival school, which we were playing, walked by our stands the people around us started throwing things at them and actaully hurt them. The worst part of it was that there were some girls that had stuff thrown at them. Then a little latter an opposing school member had his nose broken by one of our guys and had to leave the game for the doctor.
There were also multiple fights that went on during the game. It got so bad that the police had to seperate the stadium in half and make sure no went to the other side for their saftey. That is pathetic if you ask me. Sporting events should be attended to have the aggression happen on the field or the court. Crowd fighting is inapropriate and should never happen.
